Type 2 diabetes is where the insulin your pancreas makes can’t work properly, or your pancreas can’t make enough insulin. This means that your blood glucose (sugar) levels keep rising.
About 90% of people with diabetes have Type 2 diabetes. It can come on slowly, usually in people over the age of 40. The signs may not be obvious, or there may be no signs at all, therefore it might be up to 10 years before you find out you have it.
That’s why it’s very important to know the diabetes risk factors. Finding out your risk of Type 2 diabetes only takes a few minutes and it could be the most important thing you do today!
To calculate your risk we will ask you for some special category data. Special category data in this context refers to your health and ethnicity and will be stored in a way that does not identify you. All information you provide will only be used for the reasons described.
Before you start, grab a tape measure and scales….
